As Vice President of Nelson Construction, Rob Powers brings more than 37 years of industry experience and a reputation for meticulous attention to detail. Known for his ability to spot potential conflicts in plans and shop drawings before construction begins, Rob ensures smoother operations and fewer surprises on the jobsite. His expertise in architectural software also allows him to directly design many of the projects Nelson builds, bridging planning and execution seamlessly.
For Rob, the most rewarding part of construction is transforming raw land into thriving neighborhoods and communities that enrich lives for generations. He thrives as part of a passionate, dedicated team that delivers high-quality residential developments, and he played a pivotal role in Nelson’s transition from semi-custom single-family homes to large-scale, production-oriented rental communities. Among his proudest accomplishments is The Grand Luxury Homes in Granby, a milestone project that marked this evolution.
Outside the office, Rob enjoys spending time with his family and granddaughter, as well as hiking in the mountains of New England and Colorado. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management from CCSU, and is OSHA 10 Certified and First Aid/CPR/AED trained, reinforcing his commitment to safe and professional construction practices.
