Steven Girard

Assistant Superintendent

Steve Girard is known at Nelson Construction as the “go-to” team player who gets along with everyone and is always ready to step in and help his colleagues. As an Assistant Superintendent, he thrives on collaboration, ensuring projects run smoothly while supporting the company’s mission to deliver high-quality communities.

Steve enjoys working in construction because it allows him to collaborate with different trades, continuously learn about the building process, and experience the reward of watching a project come together from start to finish. His coworkers, whom he describes as talented, hardworking, and collaborative, make every project feel like a team effort.

The project he is most proud of is the Luminary Simsbury Meadows site, which holds personal significance as the site was once owned by his family before being sold to Nelson Construction.

Outside of work, Steve enjoys spending time with his wife, family, and friends. He loves trips to the beach, yard work, and woodworking in his home shop, where he creates furniture. A longtime tennis enthusiast, he hopes to return to the sport more often in the future.
